Sea World Whale Watch is growing rapidly and there are a variety of roles within the Company structure including: Ticketing & Reservations, Sales & Marketing, Terminal Supervisor, Vessel Master and Tour Guides.
The duties of a Tour Guide include tour hosting and narration, whale and general wildlife spotting, general deckhand duties, care of seasick passengers, vessel cleaning and detailing, ticketing & reservations, retail sales, sales and promotions and cafe work.
Full-time, part-time and casual positions are either currently open for application or will become open for application at various times during the year.
We currently have positions available for a Terminal Supervisor and Sales & Marketing Manager.

For Tour Guide applicants we suggest you get our attention and display your talents in a practical environment by first working with Sea World Whale Watch as a volunteer. Volunteer positions are available year-round and continue outside the whale season when our focus turns to dolphin research.
Sea World Whale Watch is currently offering successful applicants a rare opportunity to be involved in the first long-term whale and dolphin research study on Australia’s Gold Coast. During the 2010 whale season (May to November) positions are available for suitable volunteers to crew aboard the world’s most advanced whale watching vessel Spirit of Migloo.

What is the 2010 schedule?
Volunteers can book research instalments of 2 weeks, 1 month, 3 months or 5 months. Only one volunteer will be on board each whale watching tour. The schedule begins on Sunday 30 May 2010 and ends on Saturday 06 November 2010. Two volunteers per week will be engaged as follows:

Volunteer Programme - Terms & Conditions
Minimum volunteer period is two weeks. Quoted cost does not include travel, airfares, meals, accommodation or insurance. An additional uniform fee of AUD$200 is mandatory for all volunteers and the uniform is retained by the volunteer at the conclusion of their volunteer period. The branded Sea World Whale Watch crew uniform consists of cap, polo-shirt, shorts, vest and jacket. All costs quoted include GST (Australian Government Goods & Services Tax). Volunteers must be prepared to sign release documents abrogating Sea World Whale Watch and Whale Watch Australia Pty Ltd from any responsibility in the event of death or injury to the volunteer or any death or injury or damage to the possessions of any third party caused by the volunteer.
